I hereby declare August to be a month of books, coffee, and rain
While it rained last month as well, Storm Glenda left Metro Manila in chaos with days of power outages—definitely not the best environment for getting reading done! Hopefully, August will treat us much better.
Despite the interruptions, I managed to finish 7 books in July. I cleared my required reading list, completed the TFG book of the month, and tackled two more titles from my January 20 post. I also took on a dare from Ronnie to read The Once and Future King by T.H. White. I have under 200 pages left, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far!

August TBR
For August, I’ve decided to dive into David Mitchell. I know tackling his books will be a challenge since they aren't quick reads, but they come so highly recommended that I doubt I'll be able to put them down. On top of that, I’ll be reading our TFG book of the month, Fear of Flying by Erica Jong.
I hope your reading list for this month is just as exciting. Happy August, everyone!

Happy August, Louize!
ReplyDeleteWow, a David Mitchell marathon. I'm doing a Mitchell this month, too, but only Cloud Atlas. This will be my first ever David Mitchell. :)
Thank you, Lynai! Hope you gals enjoy your Cloud Atlas buddy-read! :)
DeleteThe Mitchell Mafia approves! ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, happy that you do! :)
DeleteOh, so you must be really excited about the new Mitchell book that's coming out soon!
ReplyDeleteI am! That is why I am reading these lot this month so that I'll be ready for the new book in September. ♥
DeleteI love the color of Ghostwritten's cover. And the tea set too! I started a few pages of Cloud Atlas and it's going great so far. The language is a bit tough at first, but I the whole "cannibal's gnashers" thing was pretty funny. :)
ReplyDeleteHow are you finding Fear of Flying?
Thanks, Tin. It's a pretty pretty book. ♥
DeleteLanguage is the initial complaint with Cloud Atlas, but you'll get the hang of it. I can upload the audiobook if it ever you need assistance in that area.
Fear of Flying is very readable. But the more I read into it, the more I find Isadora pitiable and irritating. How it goes with you?
I love that you have different formats of Mitchell's books. And I think I should prep up for the Fear of Flying discussion (so that I won't have sabaw answers, hahaha!).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angus! ♥
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I may have sabaw answers too.
