Required Reading: June 2013

Hi guys! May was a good month for me. I guess my reading rut is finally over because I got to read much better.

Aside from our TFG -F2F book of the month, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon, I chose the following books for June:
If you look at my selection closely, you'd say it will be a Covert Month for me.

And before I go...
We all know that with June comes the rain, flooding, and heavier traffic. So, stay safe and warm; always bring an umbrella and a book. ♥

  1. Stay safe too, Louize!

I want to attend your discussion for The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, but I think it would fall on the 29th, yes? Unfortunately, we've scheduled the FFP discussion on that month. Oh well, next time.

    1. Hi Peter!
I really think it would be very exciting to have you there, but I do understand why you can't come. We'll plan ahead for next time then. Maybe you can do something like what Charles (Flipreads) did for us last month? :)

  2. I can't wait to check out your review of The New York Trilogy. This has been on my mental to-buy list for some time. Happy Sunday!

    1. LOL, *pressure*...
You know how sluggish and negligent I am when it comes to reviewing books, Angus. But because I love you dearly, I'd do it as soon as possible. ♥

    1. Hi Lynai!
I am sooooo looking forward to it, too.
Any idea for a souvenir this time? :)

  4. Haha, and I am tempted to join the Gone Girl buddy read because of the souvenirs! :D

How are you doing with the Kav&Clay reading, Mommy Louize? I'm terribly lagging with it. *sigh*

    1. You are more than welcome to join us.
I am really looking forward to reading Gillian Flynn and Tana French books. I've recently added them to my collection of female authors for Mystery & Thrillers.

In the case of Kav & Clay, both the 1st and 2nd parts were really dragging. The phasing and character development was unbelievably slow. There was too much words with less story to tell, in my opinion. Fortunately, part 3 will pick up the phase. And hopefully you'll find the kilig feelings for Sammy's love story as well I did. :)

  5. We'll see how the discussion on the buddy read goes, and then we'll take our hint from there, I guess? ;)

  6. I have a copy of Mrs. Basil E. and seeing that you gave it 5 stars, I must bump it up my TBR. And I am excited for you to start on Gone Girl. Have a great month of June! :)

    1. Hi Tin. I found that Konigsburg book very amusing, especially when I found out why Mrs. Basil was behaving that way on her letter. The book is waaaay better than the movie. But don't let me spoil your reading. I do hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. :)
